STEP 01
Review your storage usage
At one.google.com/manage the top shows total usage across Gmail + Drive + Photos. Since you will drop to 15 GB, clean unneeded files/Photo archives or download them first if you are over.

Open membership settings
Go to 'Membership' in the left menu (or 'Manage' on the plan card). It lists your plan, renewal date and payment method; click 'Cancel membership'.

Pick a reason and confirm

Know what happens at period end
Storage drops to 15 GB. If you are over, files are not deleted but uploads/backups stop; Gmail cannot receive mail and Photos stops backing up until you free space.

Check family sharing
On a family plan, cancelling ends extra storage for all members — inform them in advance. Leaving the family group is a separate action and does not cancel the membership.
