Fix IE: water inlet fault
IE appears when the machine times out waiting for water. Open the tap, remove and clean the tap strainer and inlet hose filter; limescale is the most common cause of IE on LG models. Check the inlet hose for kinks and crushing and make sure it seats firmly at the tap. If IE persists with clean filters, the inlet valve is evaluated and authorized service steps in.
Think of the first letter: I = inlet, O = out. IE = water cannot enter, OE = water cannot leave. These two make up over half of all cases.

Fix OE: drainage with the pump filter
OE appears when drain fails. Open the pump filter from the front-bottom cover, prepare a tray, remove the filter and clean all debris. Spin the impeller by hand; if it turns freely, refit and test with a drain program. Check the drain hose is not kinked and stays under ~90 cm; pushed too deep into the standpipe, siphoning causes OE. If OE repeats with a clean filter, the pump motor is checked.

Separate UE and LE: load balance and motor lock
UE is an unbalanced-load detection; wash large items with smaller ones, redistribute and restart. One large towel or a rug is the classic UE trigger. LE is motor lock or overload; if the drum resists turning by hand, suspect bearing or motor mechanics, if it turns freely reduce the load and restart. On some series LE is a lock fault; test closure and ask service if it repeats.

Check DE: door lock fault
DE appears when the door does not close fully or the lock signal fails. Open the door, verify nothing is caught in the gasket, and close pressing on the lock. If child lock (CL) is active, a DE-like warning can appear; lift it with the manual's combination (usually two keys held long). Loose hinges block closure; a lock with zero response needs the lock part replaced.

CE, FE and PE: motor, overflow and sensor codes
CE is motor overcurrent protection; unplug for 10 minutes, repeats need motor or board checks. FE is an overflow level; close the tap, do not run the machine and leave the level hose and pressure switch to service. PE is a pressure (water level) sensor fault; visually confirm the level hose is attached but leave sensor replacement to service. On these three, do not disassemble parts yourself.
On FE, close the tap and unplug; if overflow continues, water damage spreads to the floor.

HE, tE and PF: heating, sensor and power codes
HE is a heater circuit problem; try a power cycle if water stays cold, request resistance verification on repeats. tE is the temperature sensor; programs stretch, the user step is a power cycle. PF is a power interruption notice; after a grid cut the machine may stop — restart the program. If PF repeats constantly, check the socket and fuse line; on all three, persistent cases go to LG authorized service.
