STEP 01
Check wallet and inventory
Wallet balance is lost on deletion; spend it first. If you hold valuable cosmetics, convert them to cash on the Steam Market or archive your data before deleting.

Sign in at help.steampowered.com/tr/wizard/HelpDeleteAccount. The wizard first shows help options; choose 'Delete my Steam account' at the bottom.

Verify your identity
Confirm identity via Steam Guard (email/mobile app). SMS codes may also be requested if a phone is attached. This verification blocks fraudulent deletion requests.

Submit the deletion request
Confirm 'Yes, delete my account' at the final step. Steam emails a confirmation and starts the 30-day period. You can cancel the request by logging in during this window.

Complete the 30-day period
Do not sign in to Steam for 30 days. At the end, games, playtime, wallet, profile, comments and inventory are permanently deleted. Signing in within the window cancels the deletion automatically.
Tips
- Archive screenshots, cloud saves and activity feed items before deleting.
- Turning off email notifications does not affect the deletion request; Steam still sends the confirmation email.
- Accounts with VAC bans can also be deleted via the wizard; deletion does not remove bans, and reopening an account does not reset them.
