  1. STEP 01

    Download the official Visual C++ setup

    Get the x64 package from aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe — Microsoft's official short link.

  2. STEP 02

    Install the x64 package

    Run the file, accept the license and click Install. If it says already installed, choose 'Repair'.

  3. STEP 03

    Install the x86 package too

    Also install the 32-bit package from aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe. Many games use 32-bit components; both are needed.

    x64 and x86 don't replace each other — install both.

  4. STEP 04

    Restart the computer

    Reboot after installation and launch the game again. The error should be gone.

  5. STEP 05

    If it persists, verify game files

    In Steam: right-click the game > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files.
