    Request your archive

    Settings > Your account > Download an archive of your data. It can take 24–48 hours to prepare.

  2. STEP 02

    Open account settings

    Go to x.com/settings/account.

  3. STEP 03

    Go to 'Deactivate your account'

    Click the link at the bottom of the page and confirm 'Deactivate'.

    X deletion is two-step: deactivate first, then permanent removal after 30 days.

  4. STEP 04

    Verify your password

    Enter your password to finish. Your account hides immediately.

  5. STEP 05

    Don't log in for 30 days

    Make sure no app or browser session signs in during this window; third-party apps must be disconnected too.
