Bosch Dishwasher Error Codes: Fixing E15, E24, E25 and More

E15 fires when water collects in the base and AquaStop activates. Unplug the machine and close the tap. Excess detergent foam can seep into the base, but so can a real internal leak; the first move is to tilt the machine slightly forward on a flat floor to drain the base and free the float. Leave the door open a few hours to dry and retry with a detergent-free program. If E15 returns, there is a real leak — call service.

E24 appears when water cannot be discharged; E25 when the pump or distribution path is clogged. Remove and wash the main filter, open the pump cover and verify the impeller turns freely by hand. Check the drain hose is not kinked and the sink connection is open. On E25 also check the distribution chamber in front of the circulation pump; food particles lock the impellers. If the code persists after cleaning, pump fault is evaluated.

E17 and E18 are inlet issues: open the tap, clean the tap strainer and hose filter, remove kinks. E17 usually means excess inlet (high pressure), E18 inlet timeout; filter cleaning is the first move on both. E08 says no water reached the machine at the heating stage; check the tap and inlet filter. On all three, tap and filter checks close most cases.

E09 points to heater fault; if water does not heat and dishes come out cold-damp, the resistance circuit is questioned. E14 is a flow sensor fault; it appears when water flow for the heating circuit cannot be measured. The user step is a power cycle: unplug 10 minutes and retry. If either repeats, parts get measured in service; do not remove the heater block yourself.

E23 is pump fault; if the code persists with a clean filter and free impeller, the pump motor is checked. E28 is the water hardness sensor, E29/E30 flow or pressure issues; during building pressure dips E29/E30 appear temporarily and clear when pressure returns. Try a power cycle on E28; if it persists, sensor calibration is a service job. Do not disassemble; report with the E-Nr for correct parts.

On every code the order is: power cycle first (unplug 10 minutes), then the relevant physical check (tap, filter, hose, spray arms), then a single-program test. A code repeating on three consecutive programs is permanent and needs service. Give the E-Nr from the door sticker on the call; reporting it instead of the series name guarantees correct parts and estimates.
