Beko Washing Machine Error Codes: What E1-E7 and H Codes Mean and How to Fix Them

E1 appears when the machine times out waiting for water. First confirm the tap is fully open; after building water cuts the tap is often left closed. If the tap is open, remove the metal strainer at the tap and the mesh filter in the inlet hose and brush them clean. Check the inlet hose for kinks and crushing. If the tap and filters are clean but the code persists, the inlet valve is likely faulty — a service job.

E2 means the machine cannot drain. Open the pump cover at the front bottom, catch the water in a tray, unscrew the pump filter counter-clockwise and remove it. Clean out all debris (lint, hairpin, coins), verify the impeller spins freely by hand, refit the filter and run a short drain program. If the drain hose is mounted too high or pushed too deep into the standpipe, siphoning issues block drainage.

E3 appears with too much detergent or non-HE detergent. Dish detergent used in a washing machine foams uncontrollably and starves the pump. Reduce detergent to the manufacturer's dose, follow hard-water dosing and never double the dose even for heavy soil. Run one rinse program with no detergent to purge foam; most E3 cases close here.

E4 means leak protection detected water in the base. Unplug the machine and close the tap first — this is a safety rule. The most common sources are detergent drawer overflow, foreign objects in the door gasket and weeping inlet-hose joints. Clean the gasket, hand-tighten the hose joints and inspect the base with a dry cloth. If the pan collects water again, there is an internal leak: do not run the machine and call service.

E5 points to the heater or temperature sensor circuit: water does not heat or program time stretches abnormally. E6 relates to motor speed or tacho feedback; if the drum turns freely by hand but not in a program, suspect motor carbon or board communication. User-side action is limited: unplug for 5 minutes to reset the board. If the code returns, the heater, sensor or motor part needs replacement. Do not disassemble parts yourself on repeated E5-E6; it can void warranty.

E7 refers to the water level (pressure) switch; a blocked level hose or faulty switch makes the machine misread water level. Unplug for 5-10 minutes and power back on; temporary board locks clear here. If the code repeats on three consecutive programs the fault is permanent and needs service. When calling, note the code, model number and program where it appears; the hotline can pre-diagnose and you avoid unnecessary visit fees.
