Short answer

STEP 01
E01 — door lock error
The door may not be fully closed or the lock is faulty. Check for a garment stuck in the seal, close the door firmly. With electronic locks, unplug for 2 minutes to reset the board lock.
STEP 02
E02 — water inlet error
Check that the tap is open and the hose is not kinked. Clean the filter mesh at the hose inlet (close the tap and unscrew the hose). Very low building water pressure repeats E02; try a different hour.
STEP 03
E03 — drain error: clean the pump filter
Open the flap at the bottom-left of the machine and reach the pump filter; remove lint, hairpins and coins. Ensure the drain hose is not bent. Prepare towels/a low bowl since water will come out first.
Before opening the filter, make sure the machine is off and hot water has cooled; hot water splashes are dangerous.
STEP 04
E04 — overfill error
If the inlet valve does not close, water keeps entering and E04 appears. Close the tap and stop the machine; if it repeats, the inlet valve is faulty and needs service. A cracked level hose produces the same code.
STEP 05
E05 and above — heater/sensor faults
E05 indicates a heater or temperature sensor fault and is not user-fixable. Board or motor faults appear with similar codes. Unplugging for 10 minutes resets transient board errors; if it repeats, open a service ticket.

- Monthly pump filter cleaning prevents most E03 faults; hairpins and coins are the most common triggers.
- Keeping wash temperatures below 60°C reduces scale, delaying heater faults.
- Correct leveling at installation prevents E01 and shaking problems.

Why does E03 return even after cleaning?
Even with a clean filter, drain hose height/bends or a weakening pump motor can be responsible. Keep the hose at 60-90 cm height; a repeating E03 may be a pump fault needing replacement.
Is E02 normal after a water outage?
Yes. Water cuts or pressure drops produce E02; restart the program once water returns. Closing the tap during the outage reduces pressure shock and leak risk when water comes back.
There is no display — the code blinks with lights instead?
Some Arçelik models have no screen and encode errors via program dial/lights (e.g. blink counts). Decode the light pattern using the manual's error table; manuals are on the official support page.
