STEP 01
Forget and rejoin the network
Settings > Wi-Fi > (i) > Forget This Network. Rejoin and set Private Address to 'Fixed' — with 'Rotating' selected, older routers treat the phone as a new device each time.

Turn off Wi-Fi Assist
Scroll to the bottom of Settings > Cellular and disable Wi-Fi Assist. It jumps to cellular when Wi-Fi weakens, which feels like a drop.

Handle Wi-Fi 7 MLO on older routers
There is no phone-side MLO toggle; on Wi-Fi 7 routers try disabling MLO in the router panel. On older routers, update firmware when MLO handoffs wobble.

Reset network settings
Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Wi-Fi passwords and VPN profiles are deleted; content stays.
STEP 05
Install the iOS 27.0.1 patch
Check Settings > General > Software Update. The launch-month patch fixes Wi-Fi 7 MLO stability and enterprise 802.1X authentication.
