Cancel Telcel: Close Your Mexican Line or Amigo Plan the Official Way

Short answer

You can close a Telcel postpaid line by dialing *264, calling 01 800 123 2222, or visiting a Centro de Atención with official ID. Amigo prepaid lines have no contract — they drop automatically when the recharge expires. Porting your number cancels the line automatically.

01 — Step by Step

Step-by-step fix

  1. Verify your line with *264

Dial *264 from your phone; the automated system texts you your plan, contract and balance status. Use it to check the contract end date.

  2. Call customer service

Call 01 800 123 2222 from a landline, or connect to an operator through *264 from your Telcel line. Say 'Deseo dar de baja mi plan'; the agent verifies your name, address and last bill amount.

  3. Visit a Centro de Atención with ID

If it cannot be closed by phone, go to the nearest Centro de Atención Telcel; the owner's INE/ID and last bill are enough. The request is given as a written folio (reference) — keep it.

  4. Settle the balance and device installments

Pay any remaining bill at OXXO/7-Eleven or in the Mi Telcel app. If you financed the phone over 12/24 months, the remaining device balance is collected at cancellation.

  5. Keep your number with portability

If you want to keep the number, start a portabilidad (MNP) request with the new operator; when the port completes the Telcel line closes automatically — no separate baja needed.
