STEP 01
Find your IMEI
Dial *#06# on the phone app; the IMEI appears instantly. An IMEI is 15 digits and unique to the device. Two rows (IMEI 1 / IMEI 2) mean a dual-SIM phone — use the first one for the check. If the phone will not boot, the IMEI is printed on the box label and the invoice.

Open the e-Devlet IMEI check
Go to turkiye.gov.tr/imei-sorgulama and sign in with your e-Devlet password (or mobile/e-signature). Enter the 15-digit IMEI in the form and press 'Sorgula' (Query).
No e-Devlet password? Get one free at PTT branches or sign in passwordless from the mobile app on the same SIM.
STEP 03
Read the result correctly
'Kayıtlı' (Registered) means the device works in Türkiye without limits. 'Yurtdışı girişli' with a day count means the phone was imported with a passport and shuts down when the countdown ends unless registration was completed and the fee paid. 'Kapalı/Blocked' means the device cannot be used.
STEP 04
Check IMEI before buying second-hand
Ask the seller to dial *#06# on the device in front of you, then run the e-Devlet check on that exact IMEI. If the IMEI does not match the box/invoice or the result says blocked, walk away — cloned or stolen device risk is high.
The registration belongs to the device, not the user. Buying a device registered to someone else can create ownership disputes; always ask for the invoice and transfer paperwork.

Register a device you brought from abroad
To register a passport-imported phone, use the 'IMEI Kayıt (Pasaport)' service on e-Devlet, pay the registration fee to the tax office and wait for approval. Registration is limited to a set number of devices per passport; do not use the line daily until the approval SMS arrives.
