How to Get to Afkule Monastery (Faralya, Fethiye) — Route Guide

Afkule Monastery is a Byzantine-era ruin carved into the cliff above Butterfly Valley in the Faralya section of Fethiye. Its photos circulate widely, but map access info remains incomplete. It takes about 30-40 km (1 hour) from Fethiye/Ölüdeniz to the Faralya village road; the last stretch to the monastery is a village road and footpath. The cliff-edge terrain is dangerous — approaching the edge must be taken seriously.

How to Get to Ayazini Metropolis (Phrygian Valley, Afyonkarahisar) — Route Guide

Ayazini, in the İhsaniye district of Afyonkarahisar, is the "Metropolis" stop of the Phrygian Valley, notable for its rock tombs, churches and settlement remains. It sits at the heart of the geographically marked Phrygian culture, so it is heavily searched while access details stay scattered. From Afyonkarahisar center it is about 25-30 km (30-40 minutes) on paved, signposted roads, and the visit is done on foot. It combines well with Aslantaş and Yazılıkaya the same day.

How to Get to Bafa Lake and Herakleia (Kapıkırı, Aydın) — Route Guide

Bafa Lake rests at the foothills of the Latmos (Beşparmak) Mountains on the Aydın-Muğla border, known for the village of Kapıkırı and the ancient city of Herakleia on its shore. The lake, rock paintings and ancient remains are searched together, yet transport info stays scattered. Kapıkırı is reached in 30-60 minutes (about 25-60 km) from the Aydın/Söke or Muğla/Milas side; the remains are toured on foot in and around the village, and boat tours depart from the village pier. Entry and tour arrangements can change seasonally.

How to Get to Camili (Macahel) (Borçka, Artvin) — Route Guide

Camili is the central village of the Macahel region, reached by mountain road from Borçka in Artvin — Turkey's first and only biosphere reserve, known for its wooden houses and thriving forests. Being a border zone, gendarmerie ID checks can occur on the road, and address info stays thin on maps. From Artvin/Borçka it is about 75-85 km (2-2.5 hours); the road is winding and partly gravel. Maral Waterfall and the Efeler forest are the region's signature stops.
