  1. STEP 01

    Run the EAC setup tool

    In the game's install folder find EasyAntiCheat_setup.exe (or EasyAntiCheat_EOS_setup.exe) and run as administrator. Select the game and click Install/Repair. In Fortnite it lives under FortniteGame; for Elden Ring, in the game root.

  2. STEP 02

    Start the EAC service manually

    Open services.msc, find EasyAntiCheat (or EasyAntiCheat_EOS) and press Start. If the service is missing, the setup tool from step 1 creates it.

  3. STEP 03

    Verify game files

    Steam: Properties > Installed Files > Verify; Epic: the game's three-dot menu > Manage > Verify. A corrupted EasyAntiCheat.sys gets replaced.

  4. STEP 04

    Configure antivirus and firewall

    Exclude the EasyAntiCheat folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat_EOS) in your antivirus. Allow EAC network access in Windows Defender Firewall; if you denied the permission prompt at first install, re-enable it in firewall settings.

  5. STEP 05

    Last resorts

    If the error persists: install the latest Windows updates, disable test-signed drivers (bcdedit /set testsigning off) and restart. Still failing? Uninstall the game, delete the EAC folder manually and do a clean install.

  • On Windows Home, disabling Hyper-V (Turn Windows features on/off) improves EAC stability.

Why does 'Easy AntiCheat is not installed' appear?

An incomplete EAC folder or antivirus blocking the EAC setup produces this error. Running the setup tool as administrator and choosing Install solves it.

What do EAC codes (10011, 3005, etc.) mean?

I don't cheat, yet I get kicked/banned. Why?

Some RAM/XMP profiles, virtual machine software (VirtualBox, Hyper-V) or old kernel drivers (especially RGB/camera tools) trip EAC's memory verification. Setting XMP to default and removing VM software usually fixes it.
